Wedding Video Styles and Formats

After selecting or customizing a package, it is time to think about the style and format you prefer for your video.  This is where personal service and customized editing shines.   There are many possibilities including the following:

Journalistic-Documentary Style:

This is the most popular style, and probably the one you are most familiar with.  We will capture your wedding day as it actually happens, covering all major events and sampling to varying degrees everything else.  Skillful and sensitive editing completes the process, producing a beautiful, easy-to-watch, and exciting final production.  You may request how you wish your journalistic-documentary style video to be edited.  For instance:

Long Format: Some clients prefer Long Format Editing, which portrays the ceremony and all major events in their entirety.  For the Designer Package, this type of editing typically produces a final production between 1-1/2 and 2 hours in length. This format is best-suited to fairly short wedding ceremonies.

Short Format: Other clients want the Short Format Editing, in which we videotape every event fully, but abbreviate them in the final production.   For instance, the ceremony might be represented by the processional, vows, rings, kiss, and recessional presented in full, with everything else being abbreviated or omitted.  The final production is usually about one hour long.

Retrospective Style:

This variant of the documentary style tells the story of your wedding in "flashback" style from the couple's perspective.  Requiring an extra taping session about one hour long sometime after the wedding day, we guide the couple and record on tape their memories and impressions of their wedding day.  Then we use these recollections throughout the wedding video to introduce the events of the day.  The impact of this style can be extremely dramatic and effective in recreating the emotions of the day.  Due to varying production time requirements, additional charges may or may not apply.

Artistic Style:

Unlike documentary style which focuses on accurately portraying events, Artistic Style concentrates on delivery.  All important events are still covered, but less conventionally.  The possibilities are endless.  Due to the nature of the process, additional charges may or may not apply.
