By utilizing three digital 3-chip cameras, we capture different perspectives of a priceless moment.
(St. Michaels Chapel)

The first hardware question prospective clients ask (if they ask at all) usually concerns cameras.  Cameras are important.  However, do not get fooled.  No camera by itself makes good video.  It must be used creatively and by a skilled operator.

We are extremely skilled operators that have developed effective camera strategies.  For the ceremony, we typically use four 3-chip digital cameras and sturdy tripods.  The usual strategy is to man one camera at the front of the church with a great view of the bride, and another at the back of the church.  A third camera is unmanned, and is usually set up in the balcony or someplace with a good wide view.  The front camera operator keeps the fourth camera ready to use as a backup and for quick cutaway shots.  All these cameras have great optics that enable us to obtain wide or extreme close-ups, or anything in between from any location.  We may also bring other cameras to be used for special situations, as required.  At the reception, we coordinate two manned cameras for the main events, plus we continually cover everything else independently.

JVC GY-DV5000

Our cameras are totally professional DV format, 3-chip, digital cameras suitable for broadcast work.  All cameras have been specifically selected to perform well in in low light (the bane of wedding video) and difficult lighting.  They also support professional-level audio, which in many respects is as important as the video.

For weddings, we currently use the JVC GY-DV5000, and Sony VX2100 and VX2000.  It is almost scary how well these cameras "see in the dark" --definitely better than the human eye.  We also use Canon GL-1's for B-roll and emergency backup.

We always acquire a wealth of beautiful original camera images and quality audio for editing. Your video will be, as we like to say,  "just like watching real TV"--- only better, because you're the star!
