Kristen and Mark were a lovely couple, and our coverage of the event is a good example of how we videotape all of our events. Although they booked a small package with us, we still shot the event with two camerapersons and an unmanned third camera at the church. I shot from the balcony, and had a locked-down camera next to me on a tripod, framed wide.

Case positioned his camera off to the right side of the church on the ground floor. (It was nice to work with Fr. Gene again. We hadn’t seen him for a long time and he was just as nice and cordial as ever.) 

Sometimes Case has the best view, sometimes I have the best view. When I am editing, it is always nice to have a choice. Once in a great while the best shot is from our unmanned third camera, but I find I usually don’t have to use much footage from that camera. (But it is nice to know it is there. That is the thing about weddings and events–there are no mulligans or do-overs)

For almost 20 years we have covered all of our events with two “manned” cameras and one unmanned camera, and we will continue with this tradition.

Among the advantages of LED lights is that the output is more diffuse, softer and more flattering.  This is especially important for close-in operation, such as during on-cam interviews.  Also the color of the light never changes over the full range of output levels, from barely on, to full brightness.  And finally they are many times more electrically efficient than incandescent lights, which means less heat, smaller batteries and longer run times.

Our new lighting is just one more example of how we continually upgrade our equipment and skills to produce the best video we possibly can.  We are really looking forward to bringing the advantages of our new LED lighting to our customers.
